Basic rifle antler plaques are made from 1 x lumber and consist of basically a contour shape of the rifle cartridge with a mounting area incorporated in the shape. 

Antlers are attached to a second part of the mount with screws and set in a fiberglass mixture.  The fiberglass secures the antlers permanently to the mount.  The skull cap is covered with a leather like fabric and fastened to the mount with screws.

The mount and the plaque are reinforced by a backing plate (typically plywood).  The complete plaque is balanced and a hanger is attached to the rear of the plaque.  The antler portion of the mount is then removed and a finish applied to the plaque.

We stain and laquer the finished surfaces of the plaque.  Our preference in stain color is red, but the buyer may specify another stain.

The plaque is then reassembled and is ready for delivery.

There are exceptions to the above procedures.  Some may want european plaques for antlers or skulls, and we will build to suit.

Deluxe rifle antler plaques are made of laminated lumber.  We usually build with oak or mahogany.  The wood is stained and laquered and antlers are fastened in the same manner as those in the basic antler plaque style.  The rifle cartridges are an unusual shape for antler plaques, but they are unique and distinctive.

Our rifle plaques are unique, somewhat small and are an interesting departure from other plaques available.
