basic archery antler plaques

We started making these basic plaques nearly ten years ago.  They were an exciting alternative to the machine made plaques that were available at the time.  We thought these were superior to anything else available because they represented exactly which broadhead the hunter used.

All of these plaques are built to scale.  The broadhead used is measured and transposed to a scale of 6.4 to one.

  • 100gr Muzzy 4 blade glue on, Beman Hunter arrow

This plaque was one of the earliest plaques we made.  It is a one piece plaque, except for the blade that protrudes from the shaft of the broadhead.  We were really excited by the appearance of the plaque.

  • 125gr Ben Pearson glue on, 11/32 Forged wood arrowProduct/service name

This plaque represents an early broadhead that was heavy and slow, but made a considerable wound.

  • 100gr Satellite Mini Mag, 2117 Easton Gamegetter arrow An extremely small and delicate broadhead when compared to the Ben Pearson.

  • 100gr Thunderhead, 2213 Easton X7 arrowProduct/service name

The Thunderhead is one of the more popular broadhead we've seen.

  • 125gr Rocky Mountain Razor 4 blade, 2213 Easton XX75 arrow

  • 150gr Rocky Mountain Supreme, 2217 Easton XX75 arrow

  • 100gr Easton Eagle Talon, 2213 Easton X7 arrow

Basic archery antler plaques are essentially a contour image of the broadhead sent to us by the buyer.  The plaque consists of a shaped and formed piece of wood cut from 1 x material.

Mounting blocks are attached to  the plaque and are two piece.  One block attaches to the plaque and the other to the antlers.  They are joined and screwed.

The antlers are screwed to the second block and bedded in a fiberglass mixture that secures the antlers permanently.  The skull cap is covered with a leather like fabric.

Prior to permanently attaching or joining the blocks, the plaque is stained and laquered.  We prefer red stains, but the buyer may dictate his choice of stains.

After joining the mounting blocks, a backing plate is screwed to the plaque and a hanging device is attached.  Placement of the hanger is determined by balancing the plaque.
