Goreham Woodcraft

My daughter, her family and myself spent close to a week of the holiday season in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.  We travelled to the area in hopes to familiarize ourselves with the area.  I am well aware of the significance of the area as far as spiritual growth and the marine environment are concerned.

My work with wooden boats is an avenue by which I am able to return to the fundamentals and building blocks that have made me who I am today, and I can think of no better place to build those boats than the Coeur d'Alene area.  The area is rich in character, and left me feeling a sense of belonging.

As far as style is concerned, I have been inspired by couple of builders currently active today.  One of those is the Stan Craft Boat Company in Post Falls.  Unfortunately my timing was somewhat poor.  I had hoped to tour the facilities of Stan Craft to provide my daughter an opportunity to see some of the best boats in production today.  Alas, the operation was down for the holidays.   Perhaps, another time will avail itself to us.  Time will tell...and we are listening!

At Goreham Woodcraft, we take pride in restoring and enhancing classic wooden boats.  Wooden boats have a special place in our hearts.  The entire family enjoys spending time on the water. 

Sharing experiences with wooden classics is a chance to revisit history.  We share in the enthusiasm and happiness the boat has shown to previous caretakers. 

A relationship with wooden boats enables us to travel back to a time and place where life was simpler and rewards richer than those readily attained today.
